Before You Begin

Three steps for energy preparation before each reading.

   Connect with the deck

   Hold the deck in both hands, breathe deeply, and focus on your question.

   Hold the deck in both hands, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Think about the question or matter troubling you as clearly as you can — this is the thread of connection between you and the stars.

   Shuffle through the Twelve Palaces

   Shuffle at least 12 times — one full life cycle of the 12 palaces of the chart.

   Shuffle the cards at least 12 times, corresponding to the Twelve Palaces — the 12 palaces of a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart (from Self, Wealth, Career, Friends, Fortune & Virtue, Property… to Parents). Shuffling 12 times means you are turning one full cycle of life to find the message that guides you. After shuffling a full 12 times, if you still wish to connect further, simply keep shuffling until your mind grows quiet or your hands feel it is enough and an urge to stop arises.
