Overview
The First House is the arena of identity and the conscious self — the place ruled by Aries and Mars, where being announces itself. It governs how a person shows up: their essence, presence, appearance, and the lens through which they meet the world. This is the seat of consciousness, ego, and focus — the head and face, and the waking mind that thinks and acts. Honored, it lets someone live as fully themselves, seen clearly and at home in their own skin. Left untended, it can harden into pure ego or self-image. The gift of the First House is wholeness of self; its growth is letting that self soften into the world rather than guard against it.
