    Overview

A chapter is closing whether or not you agreed to it — a role, a relationship, a version of yourself that no longer holds. The loss already happened; you're just still holding the shape.

    Meaning

    Upright

A chapter is closing whether or not you've agreed to it — a job, a relationship, a role, a way of seeing yourself that no longer holds. This isn't punishment; it's the clearing that has to happen before anything new can grow. The hard part is that you don't get to keep the old thing and the new thing at once. At work, a role or project may be ending — let it, rather than dragging out a version that's already finished. In love, something is transforming; a relationship may end, or it may shed an old form and become something truer. With your body and habits, this is the moment to drop a pattern you've outgrown. Grieve what's leaving, then turn around — what's behind the door is built on the space this makes.

    Reversed

You can feel the change coming and you're holding the door shut. The ending is going to happen anyway; refusing it just stretches out the discomfort and keeps you in a halfway place — half in the old life, half out. Notice what you're clinging to and ask honestly what it's giving you now versus what it gave you once. The fear isn't really of change; it's of who you'll be on the other side. You get to find that out. Letting go is the move that ends the limbo.

    This Card In Your Life

    Death
    01Love

A relationship is reaching a real transition. Sometimes that means an ending the kind that hurts but frees you both. More often it means a form is dying so a deeper one can replace it: the honeymoon version giving way to something more honest. Don't confuse the end of a phase with the end of the love. Let the old dynamic go and let the relationship become what it's actually becoming.
