Overview
Something has a grip on you — a habit, a person, a belief about what you owe. The cage is real, but you agreed to it, maybe so gradually you forgot it was a choice.
Meaning
Upright
Something has a grip on you—a habit, a person, a belief about what you deserve or what you owe. The trap is real but not because the lock is real; you've agreed to the cage, maybe long ago, maybe so gradually you forgot you chose it. You're serving something (a craving, an image, a fear) that was never actually serving you. The card names the bind and asks: do you want out? Because you could walk. The first step is admitting you've been playing your part willingly, even if the choice came from pain.
Reversed
You're beginning to see the trap for what it is and pull away from it. Or you're still bound but starting to question the bonds. Awareness is arriving. Liberation takes more than one moment, but you've started looking at the key.
This Card In Your Life

This connection has become a cage—maybe you're losing yourself in their needs, maybe they're controlling you, maybe you're both locked in resentment you call love. You've agreed to stay. But the chain isn't welded; you're holding it because leaving feels impossible. It's time to know that leaving is possible.

Guidance
Admit you've been playing your part willingly. The door was never locked — naming the bind is how you walk out.
